okay so we’re going to talk about stress probably the number one killer I have a clinic and pretty much 90% of all my work is just done to help people with stress and pull stress out of the body there’s a couple things you need to know about stress first of all what is stress stresses can be environmentally or internal stress or environmental stress that acts as pressure on your body or inside your body so number one all stress accumulates and I guess people don’t realize this that they think that time will heal stress but now it doesn’t our bodies are like sponges and over the years stress accumulates like a bucket and you fill up with stress now it’s okay to experience stress as long as you are able to cope with it and release it as it builds up because over the years stress will start where you it wears your body out and it starts to destroy and aid you okay so every menstrual period that’s heavy physical surgeries traumas infections miscarriages losses emotional stress divorces a death of a someone that close to you all that stuff wears out your body and will start building up your stress the gland that regulates stress and adapts your body to stress is a gland called the adrenal it’s on top of the kidneys you have two of them and your drina’s are designed to help buffer and cope and recover from stress so they put your body in a stress state in to adapt to to the stress that’s that’s coming on your body that’s called flight or flight mode so when you go through stress your body has heightened awareness it increases blood pressure pulse rate and all these things to prepare your body to deal with the stress the problem is that our bodies are not designed yet to cope with the amount of stress that an average person deals with on a daily basis we’re not designed to deal with all the stress in an office we’re sitting there typing and behind a computer all and the amount of stuff that happens we’re just our bodies have been adapt to that yet so what I do is I end up kind of extracting the stress from the body I’m going to show you some techniques today and then we get the stress out and then what happens is that there is a way to kind of control delete and wipe out these old stresses so you can then keep going and keep coping with life so you don’t bill up bill so this doesn’t build up and destroy your body so stress accumulates number one there is a way to pull it out okay it doesn’t have to build up and I’m not just talking about meditation I’m talking about acupressure technique there’s a way to pull that out and then the other thing you need to know is that over time the stress will wear out your Drina ‘ls and alter your cognitive function as well so there’s a tool that I have that measures stress okay and and I’m just going to show you kind of what we’re finding with a lot of people I’m going to draw the graph right here and this is what I find there’s two things that I measure with people that they come in I I measure their their stress and their ability to recover from stress all right now let’s just talk about the measuring of stress first a typical person that comes in we do the test when they’re resting and sitting down they should be neutral right here straight up and down so I’m going to just draw this as a dotted line so you can see kind of where they should be so when you check a person when they’re relaxed and they’re sitting there their whole body should be calm and relaxed and there shouldn’t be anything going on with stress but because stress accumulates I normally see people stuck in high mode now this is very interesting because there’s no Tigers in the room there’s no stress in the room but their dream their body is jacked up I mean it’s going going going going the more the body is stuck in stress from disti accumulation the more they’re going to think excessively the more they’re going to be excessively analyzing things and then they’re also going to lose their ability to cope with stress so we measure the stress and then we also measure the recovery to stress and that’s a smaller dial okay and it looks like it looks like this it’s like a little small dial right here and this is your recovery so we measure the stress dial and we measure the recovery okay and when we measure the small dial we want to compare it to normal and then a normal small dial should be way up here so you really want a robust a body’s ability to recover good adrenals to be able to cope with all the stress but an average person when this goes high you start burning out your ability to recover so let’s just talk about what happens when you can’t recover anymore you lose your tolerance to stress okay and then what happens people start getting on your nerves easily you get edgy you become impatient you don’t tolerate incompetency anymore you don’t tolerate people’s mistakes insanities things out of order and and so we got the situation where you’re thinking thinking thinking you’re not even thinking linear it’s more like popcorn thoughts very dispersed and you’re analyzing problems 24/7 so this can affect your your cognitive function and you start worrying because that would be anxiety and this is not a mental thing on some cases it’s a physical thing that puts your body into a state of what’s called flight-or-fight so what I’m describing is flatter fight mechanism and so we get burnt out and then we start losing our ability to cope with stress and then that you go to the doctor and they put you in a psych drug which is crazy because all that’s going to do is going to camouflage the real situation now part of the the mechanism sleep is to help juvenile you so this is going to prevent you from getting in a good sleep right so here the person can’t sleep can’t ever recover from stress but they’re stuck in stress they can’t recover and they start thinking that they have a mental disorder they think they’re going crazy but really it’s just the loss of the ability to cope with stress so those are the two dials that I found and when the recovery goes down you just you lose your vitality you lose that get up and go you become really really tired okay so so then when you’re stressed over time you lose your ability to sleep alright when you sleep at night normally you should go through for 90 minutes sleep cycles from a light sleep to a much deeper sleep okay it’s the deep sleep that helps you rejuvenate but because the body is so stuck in stress it prevents you ever relaxing so parts of your body can never fully let go and relax they’re always on so you got your foot on the gas but we don’t have any brake pads so we just burn out and we can never achieve a restful rejuvenation so stress prevents sleeping because you’re not sleeping you cannot generate energy so you become fatigued and that’s why we have the 5-hour energy drinks right no that’s not what we want to do when your body is tired and you take stimulants all you’re doing is slightly camouflaging and then you’re going to burn out the body even more it’s kind of like taking a racehorse and then pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing until it burns out so the way people need to get energy is through the sleep but in order to sleep we got to pull the stress out but of course people again get misdiagnosed with this as well they’re exhausted and then nigga the doctor and they diagnose them is depression when the fact they’re just exhausted more drugs more side-effects more weight gain right so and then we have the last thing that helps with with stress is exercise the problem with this is that when you exercise and you stress your body out because exercise is a form of stress but if done correctly you should recover from it because this exercise if it’s not over done will allow you to recover and then you’re going to recover and feel better because you’re going to release the stress the problem is that the people coming into my office are so stuck in stress they’re not sleeping that when they exercise too much they don’t recover and adds more stress they don’t lose weight so stress exercise is only good is if you if you’re sleeping if you’re not sleeping and you exercise it could put more stress on the heart and increase chance of getting a heart attack so the more stressed you are the lighter you should go the walk you should do walking on a flat surface not inclines not p90x not Insanity workouts but very light stuff some yoga stretching and all that but exercise if done correctly and what I mean by correctly is adapting to your internal body physiology not just a global you know one size fits all can help you with stress so we got sleeping we got the correct exercise and then we have the correct foods all bad habits are reactive and what I mean by that is when you’re stressed you do not think logically you’ll eat right now just to get some stress relief and you eat sugar breads pasta cereal crackers chocolate all this alcohol and things like that so what do we do so I’m going to show you a little bit of about my technique and what you can do at home and there are various some parts of your body where you accumulate stress there’s actually five parts of the body that hold 98 percent of all of your stress okay so the first part of the body that holds all of your stress is in the upper part of the neck there’s this little point right on the top of the neck that the stress will build up and there various techniques you can do with the massage tool that I develop that you can do it yourself on a chair or a bed or your couch or a tall back chair you know at work so you can apply this this little technique and it start extracting stress now I do this every night before I go to bed also in your middle back that’s the second part that’s where you’re going to hold all the stress to because the flight or flight mechanism is located in your mid-back and that’s where you want to work on each night before you go to bed a lot of stress also is contained in the underneath the on the top of the chest and the top of the heart so that’s another technique that we want to do to extract stress through the upper upper chest area and then the back of the upper neck by the skull where it connects to the neck that’s another place where you hold stress and then the last place is in the abdomen a lot of people hold stress in the mid section right in their belly area because there’s all sorts of flight-or-fight mechanisms in there and that’s where the adrenals are located so I developed a technique to have you use a tool to use before you go to bed so you can start releasing the stress as it builds up so you would do these techniques every night for about 2 or 3 minutes until you can sleep a lot better I was using dr.
