what’s up guys today I’m gonna show you how to sneak some extra protein into your diet with some protein hot coco now I know you’re thinking you’re thinking this might be like a warm chocolate protein shake and no no no no no my friends it is not that this is legit hot cocoa with protein in it so I guarantee you when you drink this you will not be able to tell but there’s actually protein in your hot cocoa yeah so it’s pretty incredible let’s get started let’s do this let’s make some hot cocoa alright so the first thing you want to do is take out your food scale a large bowl or a large measuring cup and a whisk alright so now let’s talk ingredients guys the first ingredient you’ll be adding to your bowl is gonna be some milk I’m using the unsweetened vanilla almond breeze almond cashew blend because I’m lactose intolerant so I can’t drink regular milk but also for the macros I think this is just the best tasting almond milk that they sell 25 calories per serving you can’t beat that and you could use any milk that you want you don’t have to use this you skim low-fat whole milk regardless of whatever milk you choose you’re still gonna want to add one cup of it to your bowl so the next ingredient you’re gonna want to add is unsweetened cocoa powder so what I’m gonna do is I’m gonna add a tablespoon or about five grams of the stuff into my bowl as well the next ingredient we’re gonna add is protein powder now I do have a recommendation for you guys to avoid your hot coco tasting more like a hot or warm protein shake you’ll just want to add somewhere between a half a scoop to two thirds of a scoop of chocolate protein powder in your bowl somewhere between 15 to 20 grams of protein powder anything more than that you’re gonna get more of a protein shake taste and you don’t want that the final ingredient you want to add your hot cocoa is going to be sugar substitute or sugar depending on your preferences I’m gonna be using Splenda sugar blend which is sweeter than stevia and regular sugar so just keep that in mind when you’re making your hot cocoa you might need to use more stevia or more regular sugar and your hot cocoa to make it sweet enough for you but just so you know I’m using a half teaspoon or about 3 grams of Splenda in my hot cocoa alright so you’ve got all the ingredients in the bowl what we’re gonna do now is we’re gonna grab our whisk and we’re just gonna mix everything until our protein powder dissolves and our cocoa powder dissolves and we don’t have any clumps in the bowl it’s gonna take about 1 to 2 minutes of whisking and definitely use a whisk guys you don’t want to use a fork a fork is just not going to be able to dissolve all the ingredients like a whisk will so just keep that in mind when you’re making this all right so now that we’re done whisking and all the ingredients are dissolved what we’re gonna do is transfer the hot coco – whatever cup we’re gonna drink it out of and get it ready for the microwave all right guys so I have the weakest microwave known to man my microwave is 700 Watts and a lot of microwaves are 1200 Watts so the microwave times are gonna vary depending on how powerful your microwave is if you have a 1200 watt microwave you’re probably only gonna microwave your hot cocoa for like a minute in 15 seconds but if you have more like a 700 watt microwave you’ll probably want to microwave it closer to 2 minutes so that’s what I’m gonna do I’m microwaving my hot cocoa for 2 minutes but just keep in mind that your microwave times may vary depending on the power of your microwave so if you like there’s two kinds of people in the world people who put mini marshmallows in their hot cocoa and people who refuse to put mini marshmallows in their hot cocoa so let me know in the comments below what team you’re on because I really want to find out what the majority of people like to do with their hot cocoa I’m on team no marshmallows mostly it’s because I don’t want to waste the extra macros and putting marbles in my hot cocoa maybe I’m lame I don’t know but yeah that’s what team I’m on anyways I’ll do a little taste test for you guys it’s obviously it’s done from the microwave cheers to a delicious hot coco of your own that is like that’s spot-on hot cocoa you can’t taste the protein in there it’s super rich super chocolaty perfect amount of sweetness just follow my advice it don’t add too much protein to your protein cocoa because then you’re gonna get like a warm protein shake you don’t want that as far as the macros per cup of hot cocoa 18 grams of protein 3 grams of fat and 8 grams of carbs so macros are really really nice for a cup of some high protein on Coco I hope you enjoyed the video if you did hit the like button hit the thumbs up button it just really helps the video out a lot helps the channel out a lot and I really appreciate it guys so thank you so much for watching I will see you guys in the next video mmm that’s good cocoa [Music]
