hey guys if you follow me on Instagram then you may have seen I recently posted a picture of my weight loss transformation it’s actually this photo right here and one of the questions that seemed to come up a lot was regarding alcohol consumption and weight loss a lot of people seem to be unsure about whether or not you can drink alcohol while dieting and if you do drink alcohol how do you go about tracking those macros so since there seems to be confusion about this topic I figured I’d make a video and kind of give you my perspective on drinking alcohol and dieting so the first question can you drink alcohol and still get results and diet is that okay and I think the answer is unless you’re training for a bodybuilding show or something specific there’s no reason why you can’t include alcohol in moderation into your diet and still hit all of your dieting goals the second questions a bit more involved how do you track the macros from alcohol in your daily plan so I would recommend either substituting out your fat or carb macros for whatever amount of calories you consumed in alcohol I personally wouldn’t substitute out your protein intake for the alcohol calories because there’s a lot of research that shows you need an adequate amount of protein especially when you’re in a chloric deficit and you’re in a dieting phase so how would you go about doing that say your consumption of carbs is a hundred grams a day and the light beer you drank had a hundred calories 100 calories is 25 grams of carbs so you will add those 25 grams of carbs into your carb intake for the day so now you will only be able to eat 75 grams of carbs for the rest of the day I think this is the easiest and most convenient way to track alcohol in your macros and make sure that you’re living a balanced life where you can fit a beer to in your diet and not feel bad about it not feel like you blew your whole diet anyways I hope this video helps you clear up some of your confusion around alcohol consumption and dieting and weight loss and even how to track the macros from the alcohol you consume I’m currently working on a book for beginners that shows them how to find their macros track their macros even adjust their macros this is just one of the topics that I cover in the book and I figured that it might provide some of you guys value as well so I hope you enjoyed the video and I’ll catch you in the next one
