In this video, I want to talk to you about “burning throat syndrome,” or “silent acid reflux.” What is this issue, what are the symptoms, and what are some natural remedies?

What is “burning throat syndrome,” or “silent acid reflux?”

The acid that is supposed to stay in the stomach is going through a valve and up through the esophagus into the area of the voice box and the pharynx.

What are the symptoms of “burning throat syndrome,” or “silent acid reflux?”

• Damage to your throat
• Damage to your vocal cords
• Frequent throat clearing
• Coughing
• Feeling like something is stuck in your throat
• Pain in the sternum

What causes “burning throat syndrome,” or “silent acid reflux?”

In many cases involving heartburn, acid reflux, and GERD the problem stems from not enough acid in the stomach. I usually tell people to try apple cider vinegar and betaine hydrochloride for these issues.

What if that doesn’t work?

It could be due to a hormone called gastrin. Gastrin makes gastric acid. If you’re deficient in gastrin, you won’t be able to produce gastric acid. Vitamin D controls the amount of gastrin that’s released from your stomach. If you’re deficient in vitamin D, you’re not going to have enough gastrin, and you’re not going to make enough acid. Vitamin D is involved in some real key areas of digestion.

What to do about “burning throat syndrome,” or “silent acid reflux?”

• Take apple cider vinegar
• Take betaine hydrochloride
• Take vitamin D

Today, we’re going to talk about the best way to know if you have low stomach acid.

The top three indicators of low stomach acid are:
1. Indigestion
2. Gas
3. Heartburn when you eat

What is the point of stomach acid?

1. Breakdown proteins
2. Kill pathogens
3. Absorb minerals and B12

GERD, as well as the symptoms like indigestion, gas, and heartburn, is usually caused by low stomach acid. When you have these problems, you’re typically given an antiacid. Antiacids will make you feel better temporarily, but the next time you eat the issues will become worse and worse. A few side effects of antiacids are even the same symptoms you’re trying to get rid of.

A simple solution to help improve stomach acid levels:

• Take a couple of tablespoons of apple cider vinegar with a glass of water before you eat.

• Take the natural supplement betaine hydrochloride. Take 4-6 tablets before a meal. You will need less over time.

You also need to eat healthy because stomach acid is created from other nutrients. Over time you will build up your hydrochloric acid, and these symptoms will go away because your digestion is better.
