Dr. Berg’s New Book:
Take Dr. Berg’s Free Keto Mini-Course:

Dr. Berg talks about avoiding blood clots, a stroke and a heart attack. The body is constantly forming clots and dissolving clots. a clot is called a thrombus, which is composed of mostly fibrin (65%), 20% platelets, 10% RBCs, 1% WBC and only 4% cholesterol.
A very small fraction of cholesterol makes a clot. If there is high levels of PAI-1 (Plasminogen activator inhibitor-1), you will have an increased risk of getting getting a blood clot. This compound is an inhibitor of enzymes that keep the clot dissolved. It’s an enzyme inhibitor. Now the question is what triggers clot formation:
1. Glucose
2. Pre-insulin and insulin
3. Glucocorticoids (cortisol)
4. Excess Estrogen increases the risk of blood clots by 7x.
