In this video, we’re going to talk about the relationship between bacteria, fungi, and your gut.

Many people assume that all of the gut microbes are bacteria. However, you also have viruses and fungi that work together to keep your gut healthy.

To better explain this topic, I want to go through the definitions of certain terms we will use.

Microbiome – A community of bacteria in your gut.

Mycobiome – A community of fungus in your gut.

Mutualism – Both species benefit from each other.

Commensalism – One species benefits while the other neither benefits nor is harmed.

Parasitism – One species takes and doesn’t give back, leading to harm.

The mycobiome can be more complicated to understand because of the nature of fungi. Fungi are not as studied as bacteria because fungus can’t be cultured.

Both fungi and bacteria can be friendly in healthy condition but have pathogenic potential in unhealthy conditions.

When you are given an antibiotic for a bacterial infection, you can potentially have a fungal infection. When you are given an antibiotic for a fungal infection, you can potentially have a bacterial infection.

Fungi and bacteria keep each other in check. They help your body avoid pathogenic levels of a particular bacteria or fungus.

You also have viruses in your gut that help keep bacteria in check.

Today we’re going to talk about a few things you can do to help improve an inflamed colon. Whether you have some type of irritable bowel syndrome, diverticulitis, Crohn’s disease, or celiac, these remedies may be beneficial.

9 things to focus on to help heal an inflamed colon:

1. Avoid gluten and grains
Gluten can tear up the inside part of the lining of the colon.

2. Avoid dairy
You could have an allergy to casein that creates inflammation.

3. Limit vegetables
You could have an altered microbiome, which means that your microbes are going to be easily overwhelmed by the fiber in vegetables. This can create a lot of bloating. You may want to do carnivore for a little while if you can digest protein. It’s also important to avoid vegetable oils.

4. Don’t consume alcohol and don’t smoke
Smoking depletes you of certain nutrients. You can get more inflammation.

5. Chlorophyll
If you’re not consuming vegetables to get chlorophyll, wheatgrass juice powder can be a good source of chlorophyll. Chlorophyll can be very healing to the inside of the colon.

6. Intestines with stomach (as a supplement)
You may have some type of autoantibodies, and this product could be very beneficial and give you a lot of relief.

7. Take purified bile salts
If there is some type of inflammation in the colon, you could also have a problem recycling bile salts. This could cause you to become deficient in bile. Bile salts can help keep the junctions of the colon tight, regulate the balance of microbes in the gut, and help keep things flowing through the liver, gallbladder, and intestines.

8. Do fasting
Do intermittent fasting to some degree and even periodic prolonged fasting. Fasting is one of the best things to stimulate stem cells in the colon to help heal the lining of the intestines.

9. Take a good probiotic
This could help repopulate the microbes that you have in your colon.

In this video, we’re going to talk about your microbiome and how it protects against cancer.

Your microbiome has a huge influence over your immune system. About 70% of your immune system is located in the gut. Friendly bacteria have a direct anti-cancer effect. Taking antibiotics, which harm your friendly gut bacteria, increases your cancer risk by 18%.

The friendly bacteria that make up your microbiome consume fiber. Consuming vegetables will increase your fiber intake and, in turn, help support and diversify your microbiome.

Microbes produce a type of fat called butyrate. Butyrate has the capacity to reduce your risk of cancer.

20% of all cancers are triggered by pathogens, like H. pylori, EBV, and HPV. A primary task of our microbiome is to limit the pathogens in your body. People who these viral or bacterial infections often have a problem with their microbiome.

Your microbes, and the butyrate they produce, have anti-inflammatory effects. Cancer tends to migrate to areas of inflammation—this is why cancer often appears in areas where there has been an injury in the past.

Butyrate also plays an important role in decreasing insulin resistance. Guess what cancer feeds off of? Sugar! If your blood sugar levels are off due to insulin resistance, you will have an increased risk of cancer.

Butyrate supports the gut barrier, which helps prevent leaky gut and inflammation.

If you frequently experience constipation, this is a sign that your microbiome is lacking. Probiotics can help replenish friendly gut microbes to support your microbiome and help you prevent constipation.

Prebiotics are important for gut health. The best way to get fiber on a keto diet is to consume a wide range of low-carb vegetables—especially cabbage and kimchi.

Fasting increases the survival of your microbiome and helps diversify your microbiome.

germaphobe now listen I am NOT against protecting yourself against the coronavirus or any virus at all with a mask or washing your hand and you need to do
that the point I want to make is this not all germs are harmful or dangerous
and I want to make a distinction friendly microbes are not pathogenic
okay so pathogens are those microbes that cause disease that includes a virus
bacteria fungus candida etc you have as a huge part of your immune system
trillions and trillions of friendly microbes around the surface of your body
inside your body in your colon and when you over sterilize your body it can
lower your immune system and make you more susceptible to having infections
these microbes do so much good there’s certain microbes that make acid that
makes a pathogen not want to live in that environment your microbes make
vitamins to support your immune system they also have anti-tumor properties and
a lot of people get grossed out when they realize that they have an entire
universe of microbes living through the body and your environment everywhere you
touch there’s microbes there’s germs all over the place but what they have to
realize is when they start to overly destroy the microbes on our body as well
as the microbes in our food our resistance to infection goes down
because these microbes are symbiotic they actually help form a barrier to
protect us and some interesting studies where they have germ-free mice they
basically have no microbial life living inside or outside that Mouse they end up
with autoimmune diseases allergies asthma and all sorts of other health
problems if you look on the surface of your skin it’s not just a layer of dead
cells there are billions of things living on your skin and I know it’s kind
of creepy but that’s called skin flora and this flora is very very necessary to
protecting you it’s a immune defense when you alter this it’s
called microbiome you basically throw the body out of balance and you start
getting inflammatory conditions even on the surface of your skin you can have
psoriasis you can have a rosacea you can even get acne over sterilization of your
body leads to a decrease in T cells and these T cells are formed the adaptive
immunity which is really really important in preventing inflammatory
reactions throughout the body unfortunately the viewpoint that most
people have about germs is very very negative they’re not very aware of the
benefits of these microbes even with your food if you consume too much
sterilized food and I’m talking about food that is pasteurized whether it’s
canned or in a bottle it’s heated with high temperatures or killing off
everything including enzymes or even radiated they actually use radiation on
our food nowadays and when you eat these foods that are so-called sterilized it
actually creates an immune reaction and it can actually weaken our immune system
in summary the point about this video is that you have to realize that you are
born with an incredibly complex sophisticated immune system way more
powerful as compared to any type of military that ever was on this planet
your immune system if you maintain it and you keep it healthy can defend you
against just about any attack from any virus or bacteria on this planet and
this is why the strategic advantage of the virus is that it can invade someone
with a compromised immune system but it can have an extreme disadvantage and a

Are you becoming a germophobe? I’m not against protecting yourself against the coronavirus or any virus for that matter. Yes, masks and washing your hands are incredibly important. But, here’s the thing, not all microbes are harmful. 

Friendly microbes are not pathogenic. Pathogens are microbes that can cause disease. A huge part of your immune system is friendly microbes. These microbes live all over your body on the inside and out. When you over-sterilize your body, this can lower your immune system and make you more susceptible to infections. 

A few benefits of your friendly microbes:

• Certain microbes make acid that makes a pathogen not want to live in that environment. 
• Friendly microbes make vitamins to support your immune system. 
• Friendly microbes have anti-tumor properties. 

In some studies done on mice, they found that mice without any microbial life were more prone to autoimmune diseases, allergies, asthma, and other health issues.

Your skin flora is very necessary to protect you—it’s an immune defense. When you alter this microbiome, you basically throw the body out of balance, and you could develop inflammatory conditions. 

Over-sterilization can also lead to a decrease in T cells, which are important in preventing inflammatory reactions throughout the body. 

Even sterilized food (pasteurized food) goes through a process that kills off everything, including enzymes. These sterilized foods can potentially weaken the immune system.

I want to discuss the relationship
between your friendly bacteria your gut bacteria we’re gonna call that the
microbiome and your immune system in fact 70% of your immune system really is
this microbiome your gut bacteria you have trillions and trillions of microbes
living in and around your body that are a constantly exchanging with you you’re
giving them a place to live and what they give you is immune protection they
give you nutrients they help your blood sugars and they give you other things
that are beneficial there’s over 10,000 different species of friendly bacteria
in and around your body and 99% of them are non pathogenic they’re the good guys
the great majority of microbes in your body are living in the large colon just
above and in the mucus layer and then you have the colon cells and then you
have another layer of protection where you have certain immune cells or guards
waiting for an invader to pop through so they can attack and eat them up what
happens is when you have an imbalance in the microbiome you start to lose your
gut lymphatic layer you start to have a decrease in your lymph nodes you start
to have less antibodies and antibodies are those things that attach on
microbes they don’t kill the microbes they put a tag on them for other immune
cells to kill them antibodies are very specific to different pathogens and then
you also have a decrease in the T cell production and T stands for thymus
because the thymus gland helps train the T cells and you’re gonna have less of
that the primary function of the thymus gland is central tolerance able to
tolerate your own cells that are beneficial to you because if you do not
have that function these soldier cells they’re like special forces would not be
able to tell the difference between the good guys and the bad guys and they
would end up killing both of them and you
end up with your own body cells getting attacked that is a condition cold and
autoimmune disease Auto antibodies or antibodies that are basically attacking
your own tissue but they’re not really attacking they’re tagging your own
tissue as being a bad guy and other immune cells like t-cells are going in
there and actually trying to attack them and that creates inflammation and when
you have autoimmune conditions you always have inflammation and that’s
really what’s happening you’re getting this constant attack and because the
microbiome is so heavily connected to your immune system when you lose this
you lose this and you lose the tolerance and you lose the ability to learn to
differentiate now we have a situation where we have a lot of friendly fire and
we have a lot of collateral damage in the body and a lot of inflammation
t-cells not only differentiate between your cells and a pathogen cell it’s
quite amazing that your body has this ability to differentiate trillions of
cells from pathogens that are not necessarily your cell but they’re so
intimately involved and there’s such a helper to your body that your body has
developed a system to keep them alive and not attack and kill them and also
there are certain t-cells that suppress inflammation so if we lose that what do
we get a lot of inflammatory conditions if we also don’t have enough microbiome
we get less small chain fatty acid and one would be called butyrate and
butyrate is not only helpful in balancing your blood sugars and
definitely improving insulin resistance but it’s also there to help improve your
immune system also you have less ability to make b12 B1 vitamin K biotin
and even lactic acid which makes the environment for pathogens very
uncomfortable also the microbiome are hoarding the food and the space to also
limit the amount of pathogenic bacteria to exist and the less microbiome you
have the weaker the intestinal barrier and then
you start getting leaky gut and I really think and this is my own opinion
that autoimmune disease starts in the gut
if you ever talked to someone who has an autoimmune disease
I’m talking about like Hashimoto’s Crohn’s lupus MS they almost always have
a gut problem and my other videos when I talk about COVID-19 the coronavirus the
way that that virus attacks your cell is through a receptor called the ACE2
receptor well it just so happens that your gut has way more ace2 receptors
than the lung tissue so this is another mode of entry into the cell that goes
beyond just your lung infection which is quite interesting if you want to know

Today we’re going to talk about the relationship between your friendly gut bacteria and your immune system. 

There are trillions of microbes that live in and around your body. This is called the microbiome. You give these microbes a place to live, and in exchange, they give you immune protection, nutrients, and other beneficial things. 

• 70% of the immune system is the microbiome
• There are over 10,000 different species of friendly bacteria in and around the body
• 99% of your microbiome is non-pathogenic 
• The majority of microbes are living in the gut 

When you have an imbalance in gut bacteria or the microbiome, you start to:

• Lose your gut lymphatic layer 
• Have a decrease in lymph nodes 
• Have fewer antibodies 
• Have a decrease in T-cell production
• Have less small-chain fatty acids 
• Have less ability to make B12, B1, vitamin K, biotin, and lactic acid 

The friendly bacteria hoard the amount of food and space available to limit the number of pathogenic microbes. The less microbiome you have, the weaker the intestinal barrier is, which can lead to leaky gut. It’s also my opinion the autoimmune diseases start in the gut. 

COVID-19 attacks the cells through the ACE2 receptor. Your gut has way more ACE2 receptors than the lung tissue. So, this could be another mode of entry into the cell that goes beyond a lung infection.

so I wanted to touch on the huge relationship between your digestive system your gut your friendly bacteria and your mood okay specifically anxiety stress and worry and even the effect on cognitive functions like lack of focus or concentration if you don’t have all the microflora the friendly bacteria in your digestive system specifically Bifidobacterium and lactobacillus it can potentially – all sorts of problems with your brain chemistry now if you experience a loss of a loved one it’s normal to have depression if you’re being chased by a tiger it is normal to have anxiety and stress but what I want to touch on is what if there’s actually no reason to have depression anxiety stress or worry I want to touch on the actual physical causation of that because your microbes actually make proteins and I’m talking about neurotransmitters neurotransmitters are hormone like proteins that travel through the you nervous system like gaba for example if you’re lacking gaba but you can be depressed and then you have serotonin in its relationship to your mood do you realize that 90% of all the serotonin in your body is made by your gut only 10% is made by your brain and there’s other neurotransmitters that are made by your gut as well so if you do not have the right ratios of microbes if you don’t have enough microbes that can have huge effect over your body’s ability to make neurotransmitters then you have something called the enteric nervous system now I’ve done other seminars where I talked about the flight or fight mechanism it’s called the sympathetic nervous system and then you have the rest and digest system which is the parasympathetic there’s actually a third system of the autonomic nervous system that is called the enteric which is really the connection between all the nerves in your gut and the direct connection to your brain so what is going on down here can definitely affect up here so how do we lose our micro flora well mainly through antibiotics now you might say well I don’t take any buttocks I probably had antibiotics as a child but I haven’t had them for years but guess what over 80% of antibiotics are sold as a growth factor for farm animals okay so you’re basically giving antibiotics indirectly if you’re consuming commercial meats and that’s why I always recommend consuming organic I will do a separate video on this but organic means without the use of pesticides insecticides and GMO foods like glyphosate as well as without antibiotics so I recommend doing that but it’s sometimes it’s hard if you’re going to going out to dinner because you don’t really know what you’re getting artificial sweeteners greatly affect the microflora and your gut as well so if you’re on a diet soda for a long period of time that could affect your microflora and lastly the GMO foods which we’re all affected by glyphosate as an herbicide greatly disrupts our micro flora and it can affect our ability to make proteins so there’s a couple things you can do that are very simple to improve these three symptoms right here take a probiotic take a good one that includes these two as well get a probiotic and a prebiotic together as in sauerkraut kimchi pickles fermented vegetables when I’m at the farmers market I always get a fermented vegetable and I consume some fermented vegetables on a daily basis that way you can kill two birds with one stone because the prebiotic is the fiber and then it has a probiotic as well and that can help you and avoid the things that destroy your micro flora these right here these right here these right here and by the way long-term use of laxatives can really throw off your micro flora I’ll put a couple links down below if you have constipation so anything that affects diarrhea medication laxatives or even things that you’re eating that are like food allergies that are creating that problem will throw this off and effect these right here all right guys thanks for watching hey before you go would you mind putting a comment down below to tell me what you think about this video
