DATA:

I believe not eating for seven days would be the healthiest thing you could do. I also believe that frequent eating creates a lot of health problems.

For the first 1-2 days of fasting, you may feel some discomfort, hunger, and weakness. But, after that, your hunger will go away, and you will start experiencing amazing benefits.

The difference between starving and fasting:
Starving:
• A lot of the side effects of starvation occur when you’re not consuming nutrients
• The body will eat the muscles and organs
• Your appetite is very intense
• You feel apathetic
• You experience muscle atrophy
• You’ll be highly irritable
• You experience a major cognitive decline
• You’ll be weak and tired
• You’ll have severe nutritional deficiencies

Fasting:
• You’re drinking enough fluids and taking nutrients
• The body will only burn fat and will protect the muscles
• You have no appetite or cravings
• Your mood is elevated
• You have a huge spike in growth hormone
• You will feel pleasant and have a good sense of well being
• You experience neurogenesis (cognitive benefits)
• You’ll be strong, and you’ll have a lot of energy
• Your immune system will be stronger
• You will experience autophagy
• Your antioxidant networks are improved
• Your insulin becomes more sensitive
• Your metabolism becomes stronger and faster
• Metabolic syndrome can be improved
• You could lose fat
• Your microbiome is strengthened and improved
• Problems with the gut can be improved
• Allergy problems may be improved
• Inflammation and pain may be improved
• Your ability to detox improves
• Your cellular tolerance of stress improves
• You become more parasympathetic dominant (calm and relaxed)
• You can kill cancer cells

11:00 Thanks for watching

In this video, we’re going to talk about how to use intermittent fasting for weight loss.

Intermittent fasting is the most important thing you can do for a healthy body. Why?

Intermittent fasting…
• Reduces hunger
• Boosts weight loss
• Increases your white blood cells
• Strengthens your immune system
• Increases stem cells
• Suppresses inflammation
• Increases autophagy
• Increases growth hormone by 2000%
• Increases testosterone by 180%
• Improves your mood
• Regrows brain cells
• Improves focus
• Fights off cancer cells
• Repairs mitochondria
• Repairs a slow metabolism
• Repairs insulin resistance
• Helps with diabetes

Intermittent fasting is not a diet—it’s a pattern of eating. However, it’s important to combine the Healthy Keto diet with fasting to get the most weight loss benefits.

How to do intermittent fasting for weight loss:

Stage 1: This is your normal diet, which might include six eating times throughout the day (3 meals and 3 snacks).

Stage 2: Stop snacking between your meals—limit all eating to three meals (including any snacks/treats) and add more fat to your meals.

Stage 3: Skip breakfast. Have your first meal around noon and your last meal at 6 pm. This leaves you with about a 16-hour fasting window and an 8-hour eating window (16:8).

Stage 4: Reduce your eating window. A 20:4 intermittent fasting plan is ideal for fast weight loss. This gives your body 20 hours of fasting. With this plan, your eating window could be 12-4 pm, 1-5 pm, 2-6 pm, etc…

OMAD: If you really want to speed up your weight loss, you can do OMAD (one meal a day), where you consume just one large meal each day. This is the best way to increase weight loss.

Does water make you weak, especially when fasting? Let’s talk about why this happens. This is basically due to a deficiency in sodium. A person will feel very weak if they don’t consume enough salt. I recommend sea salt.

When you’re fasting, you’re typically not consuming anything except for water. The more water you drink, the more you dilute minerals, including salt and sodium.

Drinking an excessive amount of water while fasting can be bad. You always want to consume sea salt while fasting. Our bodies need 3.5-5g of sodium a day. That’s roughly 1.5-2 tsp. of sea salt a day.

Causes of a sodium deficiency:
• Not consuming enough sea salt
• A low-carb diet
• Consuming large amounts of potassium
• Stress
• Sweat
• Certain medications (diuretics and antidepressants)
• Liver or kidney problems
• Diarrhea
• Vomiting

One way to find out if you’re deficient is to consume more sea salt and see if you feel stronger.

3:38 Share your success story!

In this video, we’re going to talk about gallbladder problems and prolonged fasting.

Some people experience symptoms of gallbladder issues when doing a prolonged fast.

Symptoms of gallbladder issues include:
• Gastritis
• Pain in the right shoulder area
• Pain or tightness in the area under your right ribcage
• Burping

Gallbladder issues are often related to your bile (or lack thereof).

Gallstones or gallbladder sludge develops as the concentration of cholesterol in your gallbladder increases.

When you fast or go on keto, your body releases triglycerides and cholesterol.

This causes your cholesterol to increase in your gallbladder, leading to bile sludge.

Preexisting gallbladder or liver issues, bile deficiencies, and a poor gut microbiome can cause gallstones and bile sludge.

Over time, many gallbladder issues will resolve themselves while you’re fasting and doing keto.

The best remedy for bile sludge while fasting is to take purified bile salts. This will help increase your bile and decrease the concentration of cholesterol and triglycerides.

I do two doses of bile salts in the morning and two at night for gallbladder issues.

Give this remedy a try, and let me know how it works for you in the comments below.

4:02 Bulletproof your immune system *free course!

Is it safe to do intermittent fasting while pregnant? The answer isn’t a simple yes or no. There are a few questions to ask yourself. The most important thing is to get enough nutrients.

Questions to ask yourself about your pattern of fasting and eating:
• Will it create nutrient deficiencies?
If it does, don’t do it. If you did two meals, but they were very dense in nutrients and calories, and you’re adapted to keto, I don’t see a problem with that.

• Will it worsen my blood sugar levels?
Jumping into keto and intermittent fasting without enough knowledge could cause you to have low blood sugar levels, which isn’t healthy. It may be best to get into it gradually and let your body tell you when you’re hungry and when you should eat.

• Will it affect sex hormones?
Intermittent fasting doesn’t affect these hormones in a negative way. However, some foods like soy and commercial dairy can affect these hormones in a negative way.

• Will it spike insulin?
Keto and intermittent fasting can help normalize insulin. But, a high carb diet can spike insulin. High insulin can lead to high androgens, which can potentially lead to PCOS. One symptom of PCOS is infertility.

• Will it affect cortisol?
Keto and intermittent fasting may help improve cortisol levels by lowering stress.

Could intermittent fasting be as effective as insulin for diabetics? Here’s what the research shows!

Timestamps
0:00 Introduction: type-1 vs. type-2 diabetes
1:27 Side effects of hyperglycemia
2:47 Intermittent fasting, insulin, and diabetes
4:45 Share your success story!

In this video, we’re going to talk about why intermittent fasting could replace insulin for type-2 diabetes.

The difference between type-1 and type-2 diabetes is that type-1 diabetes is characterized by a lack of insulin due to pancreatic damage.

Type-2 diabetes is characterized by a lack of insulin sensitivity. When you have insulin resistance, your body creates far too much insulin. However, this insulin isn’t effective because your insulin receptors can’t pull in the insulin.

Over time, type-2 diabetes can exhaust the pancreas, causing a reduction in inulin production. In turn, some severe types of type-2 diabetes may require insulin shots.

Hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) has similar side effects as high insulin. Both can cause damage to your nerves and blood vessels—especially in your eyes, kidneys, arteries, heart, and brain.

An interesting study on three people found that fasting has the potential to reverse insulin resistance and restore insulin’s effects on blood sugar levels. All three patients were able to stop taking insulin. Two of the three patients were able to eliminate all medications, and the other patient eliminated 3 out of 4 medications.

These results seem to be due to the fact that lowering your consumption of carbs lowers your need for insulin.

Keto and intermittent fasting combined may decrease the need for insulin even further.

Make sure you do not stop taking your prescription medications without your doctor’s approval. Work with your doctor to get healthier by doing keto and intermittent fasting.

Do you get angry or irritable while fasting? This is why.

Timestamps
0:00 Why does fasting make me irritable?
1:50 Tips for irritability when fasting

Today we’re going to talk about why you might feel angry or irritable when fasting and what to do about it.

Your body runs off of three main types of fuel. There is sugar, ketones, and fatty acids. When someone lowers their carbs and sugars and starts producing ketones, they’re only running on about 40% ketones. About 60% of their fuel is fatty acids.

If you have a history of long-term insulin resistance, it will take a while for your body to become more flexible in this transition to burning ketones and fatty acids. During this transition process, you could feel angry or irritable when fasting. You might also have a low tolerance to stress.

Insulin resistance makes it difficult to get glucose into the cell because you need insulin to absorb glucose. When you go on a low-carb, low-sugar diet, you’re really low on glucose, and you’re dependent on ketones and fatty acids.

The problem is that your brain is the only organ that can’t use fatty acids. It can only use ketones and glucose. But, if you haven’t fully switched over to running on ketones and fatty acids yet, your brain and mood can suffer.

Tips for irritability when fasting:
1. Give it time for your body to fully adapt
2. Add more ketones to your diet during the adaptation phase (MCT oil or exogenous ketones)

This transition is temporary. Don’t give up, and eventually, you’ll feel really good while doing fasting and the keto diet.

In this video, we’re going to talk about another reason why you should do healthy keto.

We already know that healthy keto helps with weight loss and many different health conditions. But, when you do Healthy Keto and intermittent fasting, it can also significantly increase your absorption of nutrients.

Fasting alone will decrease your need for nutrients. But what about Healthy Keto?

When you are on Healthy Keto, your insulin level begins to naturally correct itself. Over time, this can heal insulin resistance and promote normal blood sugar levels.

Insulin resistance can block the absorption of many nutrients. Today, I want to focus on the absorption of calcium.

When you fix insulin resistance, your calcium absorption instantly begins to increase.

Avoiding grains and doing fasting helps heal the inside of your colon by reducing inflammation. Inflammation and damage to the gut can lead to the malabsorption of minerals, including calcium.

Vitamin D helps you absorb calcium by 20X. If you’re deficient in vitamin D, you’re likely deficient in calcium too.

Calcium is vital not just for the health of your bones but also for cell-to-cell communication.

When you’re not on Healthy Keto, you’re likely consuming too many phytates—especially if you consume whole grains and soy. Phytates block calcium, zinc, iron, and other minerals. Oxalate-rich foods block calcium too.

Hormone imbalances can also influence your ability to absorb calcium.

Healthy Keto naturally helps your digestion and nutrient absorption by promoting healthy stomach acidity and bile.

Keep in mind that being on a high-carb diet will increase your body’s demand for many nutrients, including vitamin B1, calcium, and vitamin C. This is why Healthy Keto is the best diet for promoting normal and healthy nutrient absorption.

2:30 What is the best diet if you have cancer?

Let’s talk about cancer and ketones. There has been a debate on whether the ketogenic diet is good or bad for people with cancer, and also whether or not the keto diet is the best diet once you get cancer. Here is my viewpoint based on the data I have.

I believe that a healthy ketogenic diet with intermittent fasting and periodic prolonged fasting is the best diet to help prevent cancer. I say this because I believe the cause of cancer is mitochondrial damage, and there is nothing that destroys the mitochondria more than metabolic syndrome, high insulin, and a diet high in sugar.

You have two different types of ketones:
1. Ketones that are produced by a low-carb diet
2. Ketones that are produced when you’re fasting

There is some evidence that shows that cancer cells can consume ketones. But, when you get your ketones from fasting, you also get a massive anticancer effect with the help of the immune system and the help of certain genetic things. The ketones that occur when fasting will not feed cancer like the ketones that occur when you’re just doing a low-carb diet.

When you’re fasting, your normal cells may also be a bit more protected from chemo and radiation, but cancer cells don’t get that protection. The ketones that occur from fasting may also enhance the effects of radiation.

But what if you already have cancer? The answer to this is evolving as more data emerges. We’re actually doing some very interesting research that involves strategic clinical trials done by high-level scientists. We’re trying to find a protocol that doesn’t involve massive amounts of fasting. But, right now, we know fasting is the most powerful weapon against cancer.

The eating plan for cancer is a low-carb, low-protein, low-fat diet that’s high in nutrient-dense vegetables. The problem is, what happens if you’re very thin? We’re not trying to go low-calorie, but this is a low-calorie diet because we’re trying to starve the cancer of various fuels. Then, you add fasting where you’re not eating at all. So, there are a few problems we still need to solve.

The cool thing about the phytonutrients from plants is that they are selective. This means that a lot of the phytonutrients from plants are anticancer and only affect cancer cells negatively and not your other cells.

In this video, we’re going to talk about air pollution.

Now, I have some good news and some bad news. The bad news is that air pollution has now been found to increase the risk of diabetes.

This is due to something called particulate matter. These are microscopic particles in the air. They can be solids or liquids.

Particulate matter can get into the lungs and bloodstream.

The size of this harmful particulate matter is less than 2.5 micrometers. This appears as a haze in the air.

Within particulate matter, there are thousands of chemicals from industry, power plants, automobiles, and various other sources.

This air pollution has long been known to cause lung cancer.

A new study found that exposure to particulate matter (PM 2.5) can alter blood sugar levels and significantly increase the risk of type-2 diabetes over 16 weeks.

The reason why air pollution has these effects is unknown. However, there are some theories. It could be due to systemic inflammation, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, oxidative stress, or the gut microbiome.

What we do know is that pollution leads to insulin resistance, which affects blood sugar levels.

The good news is that research shows that fasting can block the adverse blood sugar effects of air pollution. Fasting can also inhibit glucose intolerance.
